The 2026 KTM 250 SX-F continues to set the benchmark in the ultra-competitive 250 cc four stroke motocross class.

Built around KTM’s READY TO RACE philosophy and refined through countless hours of factory racing development, the 2026 model delivers explosive performance, lightweight agility and championship proven technology that keeps it at the front of starting gates around the world.

At its heart is a highly developed 249.9 cc liquid cooled DOHC single cylinder engine designed to deliver class leading power with razor sharp throttle response.

Featuring an 81.0 mm bore and 48.5 mm stroke with a 14.5:1 compression ratio, the engine breathes through a 44 mm Keihin electronic fuel injection throttle body, ensuring precise fuel delivery and instant response across the rev range.

Dyno testing places peak output at approximately 41.8 horsepower and 19.7 lb ft of torque, giving the 250 SX F one of the strongest engines in the class and impressive top end pull when the revs climb.

Power is transferred through a close ratio 5 speed transmission paired with a Brembo hydraulic wet multi disc DS clutch, providing consistent feel and durability under hard race conditions. Advanced rider aids further sharpen the bike’s competitive edge, with launch control for holeshot performance, quickshifter functionality for clutchless upshifts, and selectable engine maps with traction control, allowing riders to tailor power delivery to track conditions.

Suspension duties are handled by WP XACT components, including a 48 mm WP XACT AER air fork up front with 310 mm of travel, paired with a WP XACT monoshock with linkage delivering 300 mm of travel at the rear. Both ends are fully adjustable for compression and rebound, allowing riders to fine tune handling for everything from deep sand circuits to hard packed supercross style tracks.

Dimensionally the bike remains purpose built for elite motocross performance, featuring a 958 mm seat height, 343 mm ground clearance, and a 7.2 litre fuel tank, ensuring optimal rider ergonomics and race ready endurance for demanding motos.
